Bug Zappers that order the buffet of bugs that land low on the wall where the frogs simply face the wall an zap... no bug!

Such a cute couple. You don't see many photos of guys like these and I really love these. So much lovely detail and the color is fantastic.

Thanks, been trying to put more effort in learning white balance, etc. Tried to keep it true to color as much as possible. It's interesting that the toads have a variety of shades.

The Toads live around my back steps. They have a board propped against the side of the house behind an asparagus plant that they hide in when it is hot and a hole in the original ceramic drainage pipe (that used to run excess water away from the yard about 50 yrs ago) that they hide in too. Haven't seen them lately, suspect they are hibernating although the weather is back and forth. Every evening the toads would show up on the back steps for bug buffet under the porch light.

I found the answer, googled it and found the toads are called 'Ollotis Nebulifer (Bufo valliceps). They have a very distinct stripe on back and crests on head.

Thanks! I dabble in Herpetology and have not run across this variety before. Your photos are very good!
