thanks. This shot was taken with a few images in control envorinment and stacked, using helicon. Its not possible to have
DOF across the plane of the fly in sharp focus in a single shot even stopping down to the smallest aperture.

Flash light used was AF 200 fg attached to hotshoe of camera. I used Styrofoam plate to the far end of the lens tied with a rubber band to hold it in place for diffusion. The working distance is very near, probably an inch and almost impossible to capture in horinzontal position. Most shot were taken in an angle 45 degrees downward with voigtlander macro and 50 mm infront reversed. The same when I used an A200 macro with 50mm infront reversed but will have a much higher magnification.

I have read some of your notes on preparation but its a long long articles to read. maybe to me only, still thanks on your effort on the write out.

Bought helicon and zerene as well and serene is just too slow. But if I were to put into print, I may do it on zerene to choose the background from the stacks.

Those latter 2 shots were without retouching.

Also have some orchids stacked with 645Z and I have very good results.

Will post some orchids some other time.
