Elephant Beetle

taken with the venerable FA 100/2.8 with Elicar 8 ring flash - a little photoshopping to deal with over exposure in places.

Thanks for the tip. I have always called these 'elephant beetles' because that is what my dad called them.

A little research later I actually found out what it really is. A Botany Bay Weevil

Botany Bay Weevil (Chrysolopus spectabilis)

Awesome and thanks - I learnt something for the day.
