Some Water Birds - Jacana Wetlands

Some Water Birds from Jacana Wetlands - a small, man made system of lakes & wetlands in the Moonee Ponds Creek valley.

Eastern Great Egret f8 - 1/4000

f8 - 1/500


Purple Swamp Hen f8 - 1/1000


Pacific Black Duck f8 - 1/250


White Faced Heron f8 - 1/1000


Straw Necked Ibis f5.8 - 1/2000

You make good use of the 55-300. I think the black duck is my favourite here, lovely detail and beautiful reflection

Just great! My favorite is the Black Duck also. Great detail in the duck, nice reflection and the water is beautiful.

really enjoyed all the photos CC, you found a great place to photograph birds in the wild, love the Ibis.

I cycle down that valley quite a bit.

Can be hard to believe it's in the middle of suburbia. :-)

thank you, the water in these ponds seems to be different for every shot, but always interesting

yes just a 15min walk or 2 minute drive for me, although in peak times the traffic noise from the Ring Road can remind me just where I am, cheers
