One wonders why these turtles would be so fascinated with the sky. Perhaps they are keeping an eye for alien invaders, and for good reason; shortly before I photographed the turtles, I captured a few otherworldly invaders lurking about the place (note that I converted the pic to B&W, since the color version would have been too frightening for a family forum).

Those are neat shots

of some great looking turtles......I don't blame them for being cautious, I hear aliens love turtle soup!

I sure wish you hadn't posted those alien pods; even in B&W they are terrifying. At least the turtles can stick there head into their shells but I am left putting a pillow over my face.

Thanks, Rupert. I was happy to catch these characters with their necks stretched and fully visible. I think you've identified exactly the source of their anxiety!
