New Zealand-Lindis Pass to Wanaka
Lens: Sigma 18-125 DC HSM Camera: K-x Photo Location: New Zealand-Central Otago ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/250s Aperture: F14
Posted By: ranmar850, 04-09-2015, 02:24 PM

Spent the night in Twizel, then on towards Wanaka, stopping at the viewing area towards the top of the Lindis Pass.

Then on to Wanaka--I had booked on the net, and the accommodation had promised mountain views--we weren't quite prepared for what we got.Mostly overcast, but the sun broke through on occasions. Difficult conditions, but I persevered, and was rewarded with this.

Glorious location. I have traveled from Haast to Wanaka several years ago and this brings back good memories. Beautiful shots, thanks for posting.

And today, the Lindis Pass has significant snow on the ground, as does all the NZ high plains country. Snow down to sea level in the far south, down to 200 metres on the Canterbury Plains, so we should have some on the ground here in the morning. View from the farm today, just a bit on the higher peaks, mostly obscured by cloud.

Stunning pix....second one. What a view, especially as you have caught with the sun's rays streaming out of the clouds.
