New Holland Honey Eaters

Beautiful as always man, you make that lens really sing. When someone drops the DA 55-300 name, I point them to your pics. Nobody has gotten so much out of this lens, you deserve all the praise you get.

thank you so much for those kind words, modern DSLRs (K30) and being able to shoot @ 800 or 1600 iso without too many noise concerns certainly helps, cheers

thank you for the comments photolady, the lens is almost always at 300ml when birding, the fist shot was was from 4ft or there about, close to minimum focus distance, these juvenile honey eaters were all over the "bottle brush" bush in my front yard for a couple of weeks, in the end they got quite used of me standing next to the bush and I as able to get in close. The second shot is in park land, I'd estimate about 15(ish) ft

#1 is impressive indeed, not just for the bird but for also positioning it with one of its favourite food sources.

You have that DA55-300 really singing!
