A Spectacular Five Seven!
Lens: SMC Pentax-FA 50mm f:2.8 Camera: K-50 ISO: 800
Posted By: Dewman, 04-25-2015, 01:10 PM

I passed this guy on the street, made a U-turn and followed him home. I asked for and was granted permission to photograph what is most likely the finest '57 Chevy I've ever seen! It was restored to perfection. Not too much, not too little. Just right. A magnificent sounding 380 HP 350 CID engine, tan leather interior, absolutely as clean as it could be. Class from stem to stern. No hokey pin stripes, no gaudy flames, not slammed to the ground..... but, almost bone-stock other than the tires & wheels and the engine swap. This made my day! I only wished I could have picked a better spot than his driveway and do some serious photography! Man.... this thing gave me a stiffy!

Sorry to have posted so many shots on one thread, but I didn't know where to stop!

Terrific photos!

I've never been a fan of Harley Earl's slab-sided, glittery design philosophy (even when I was an 11-year-old kid back in '57), but I'm a rabid fan of crisp, richly colored automobile photography. Your shots are excellent examples of the genre - especially considering these were taken in a restricted environment like a driveway on the spur of the moment. Great job!!

Thanks, one and all for the kind words. By the way, I DID NOT add the starbursts.... it just seems to be a characteristic of the FA-50 f:2.8 lens.

That's a beauty for sure! Even the modern rims & tires look good on it
