In my 35 years in Oregon, I never explored Hug Point. Silly me.

It's really a lovely set of photos. What strikes me is the apparent absence of barnacles, mollusks and crustaceans. Curious.

Yeah, those were both sites I had encountered looking around. I rather like the ability to pick locations off a map, especially when you're outside the region where you know the names

Because Oregon's coast is fairy linear, tides do not vary much. Checking anywhere within 50 miles of your destination will give accurate tide times and levels.
