Hollywood Beach
Posted By: paulsoucy, 06-08-2008, 04:10 AM

Took some time to head out to the beach yesterday to relax and snap some shots...

Here are the ones I liked....

This last one ( which I really liked ) was ruined due to all the apparent micro dust inside of my lens... something I was not aware of....

The colors are unreal on these shots! So vivid. The last shot is really nice... Not sure where the microdust is...

Wow belle job Paul!!! Il dois faire chaud en chien la-bas!

The colours are really stunning!

I was on Hallandale beach right next to there a few months ago and would take a walk up to Hollywood on the beach almost every day for a stroll up the boardwalk.

Great shots, lovely vibrant colors. My pick would be the first and last shots.

Absolutely love #1, very dramatic sky-cover and great composition of sunny subjects.

It's kinda funny 'cause when I was there I was looking at that gate and wondering how I could take an interesting pic of it... and you nailed it!!!

I shot all these RAW and processed each one accordingly....

The time each photo was taken was about 3 or 4 afternoon and the sun was just starting to arch down westward.. so it was almost directly overhead but to an angle

I used AV mode on all the photos that way I could decide whether I wanted shallow depth or deep depth of field because it was so bright there was not a need to worry about shutter speed...

I have my camera set when I use AV that the rear dial is exposure compensation.. so on a few of the photos i dialed it down a bit so as not to blow out the highlights, I figured I would bring them back in RAW if needed...

The adjustments made in RAW typically were to just kick up the vibrance some, bring up the fill light, then back it off by adding in some black and then tweak the colors in the groups

Here are 2 more from that set...

I thought this next composition made good use of contrast ( specifically larger vs. smaller )

More cool palm trees with the nice sky in the background...
