Some photos taken with Tokina lenses
Posted By: kjask, 02-04-2007, 01:05 PM

Here are some photos from this weekend's small lens test. I bought Tokina 28-70 AF macro and 70-210 MF lenses on ebay for 60€ (28-70) and 50€ (70-210) - that's about 75 and 65 US$...
I plan to use them for allaround shooting with MZ-3 and MZ-50 body. But now I think they will be also useful on DSLR... I allways shoot in RAW and there are so little corrections to make with these lenses... mainly some crops..

Always a fan of your photos, kjask. Your style is like photojournalism displaying various kinds of culture in Europe.

Lately, I have been stuck with study and work too much (I got a new batch of interns making my life difficult...)

Tokina certainly does a good job here. But I think it is your talent and unscruplous pursuit of local beauty through your approach making these shine!

I wished I lived somewhere near europe. Maybe near my retirement ...

Cheers!

I have a M42 Tokina 28 f2.8 that I've cleaned up and I enjoy using this.

As Roenterre says your subject matter is stunning and the clarity and sharpness of the lenses do enhance this. I really like the snowy mountain scenes as I now live in the low tropical coast and we get lots of rain but no snow. Beautiful images.

Perhaps people do not comment as they can only say "Beautiful!!!!"

I've got three: 20-35mm, 28-80mm 80-200mm all f/2.8-very sturdy lenses.

I like the first few shots in the sequence the best: lots of interesting shapes and textures. We had record snowfall here this winter-compared to our usual none it got tiresome rather quickly--guess it might be giving me a bias against snow shots.

Your posting time is right in the middle of my best sleeping time; right now I'm still trying to determine if you are having breakfast or going to bed??? I think it's the latter.

Hi Kjask
I'm sorry I missed these when you first posted them I especially like the lines on the third shot, the one of the people iceskating and the red house with the split log fence. But all of them are really good. They make me want to travel to your area of the world. But first I have to get my 77 ltd!

thanks guys. I know these lenses aren't brilliant, but they are quite decent and cheap. thanks, roentarre. I'm glad you like my simple photos. And my old wish is to travel across Australia and New Zeland.

Arjay Bee and jfdavis58, I allways dreamed about 2.8 lenses from tokina... you lucky guys! jfdavis, I have my breakfast 8 hours before you. It is evening now, 9:00 pm.

Thanks, NaClH2O. I hope you'll soon get this fantastic gem.

I see no problems with the lense.....or with your eye for a good shot.
