The difference a few days make

Well it's been a while. All is well. Hope to get to more regular posting. Could not resist this.

Yesterday Alberta had a provincial election and the Blue Tories were run over by the Orange Crush. Last time Alberta did not have a PC government songs like Joy to World, My Sweet Lord and How Can You Mend a Broken Heart topped the charts.

Monday was also +20 we finished staining the deck early afternoon. So here's a shot from Monday and a shot from a few hours ago ........

Almost frightened to see what lies underneath when the snow melts .....(should be gone by Friday) ......

Remind me, old buddy, what all that white stuff is that laying in your yard. I seem to remember stuff like that when I lived in Michigan . . . . . . but the old memory ain't what it used to be.

Great to hear from you, my friend.

Well I heard it was a reminder that the Hockey playoffs have started Dave, don't be such a stranger. The deck looks good with that new stain, how long is it guaranteed to last?

Thanks Boib indeed - the Habs are down and if they lose this one the fat lady will be warming up her pipes. It is a "6 Year Stain" - fine print says ideal conditions , up here we'll get two summers out of it , so 18 - 24 months the do it all again.

Good to see you back Dave. Nice snow photo, but I still remember what it's like and know it's cold.

I think as far as a wood deck there is no where on planet earth that offers ideal conditions - rain and sun are a problem of a different nature

The snow is related to this event. This is what happens when hell freezes over.

Hello Dave good to see you back. Nice shots. I was wondering why you would have the furniture out in the snow and not when the weather was nice. Then I got to the staining part.

I was going to do the decks last week but than decided against it and now we did not get the snow but last night it went down to -4 C. Do I have to stain them orange now?

ha indeed Social media is flooded with Gloom and Doom posts. My take is we can't do anything about it so let's give them the benefit of the doubt and see what happens.

Thanks Heinrich - we probably should have waited however we had the deck cleaned and everything on the lawn for a week already - hopefully it had enough time to dry completely (around 30 hours). As for Orange ha perhaps even our little hamlet went NDP .....

Great looking deck Dave......love it, but I am no fan of snow! We've been nice and warm here for almost two months!

Regards!
