Going to Algonquin to camp has many advantages. Unlike crown land, where many of the most beautiful places have cottages on them, in the Park the most beautiful sites are out there for people to live on for a few days. First come first served. All you have to do is get there first. This early in the year it's not as much of a problem, but, we did miss on two sites we wanted to stay on. But we also stayed on two beautiful sites we'd never been on before.

There are a few back flies out, but they aren't swarming or biting yet. We hope that holds through the weekend.

These photos remind me of times past. I went up there with my grandfather back in the late 60's I saw my first bear and gained a love and appreciation for camping.
