K-3 and DA 18-135

You don't get a trip in May without some serious atmosphere.

Sure, bring your tent, sleeping bag etc. and bring food and cook for one or two meals as well as your own breakfasts and lunches. But I'll warn you, the Ice Out trip which this was, goes when the ice is out. You pretty much need a one week window at the end of April- beginning of May when you can leave on a day's notice and be gone for 11 or 12 days. We don't act as official guides, and anyone who tripped with us in the past can go, but if you've done any tripping at all that's probably good enough for the group. We do meet people from Penn's Woods up here from time to time.

You know that if you shoot in raw you can correct the white balance pretty easily.

Nice series Norm.

That scenery is gorgeous but I'm afraid that my days of sleeping in a tent are over (assuming of course that they ever started.)

White balance is not a natural phenomenon.

Come on slowpez, tough up there. My modern ($200) air mat is almost as comfy as my bed, and those little chairs we sit on are pretty comfy too. All we miss are the walls and temperature control.

I don't doubt they are comfortable and I am sure I could sit in your chair and sleep on an air mattress. My problem is being able to get up from said positions.

Norm, this is super !

It reminds me very much of days past in Northern Ontario on Lake Pivabiska, near Hearst !
However, the trees shown in your pictures here are "to die for" .... much more luscious than Hearst with the endless forests of black spruce !

Cheers!

We had one chair that was a little lower than the others. 70 year old Enid had to roll out of it, way too funny. When Chris's 18 year old son came, we made sure he had to sit in the low chair...

I lived in Timmins for a while, so I'd expect some White and Red pines and Jack Pines mixed in. But I know what you mean about the endless spruce. I was in hearst for a wrestling tournament once.
