I took a little time to walk around campus this morning and test my latest lens--in this case, the K-series 20mm/4. Like all the K's I've handled, its build quality is outstanding, though the focus throw is a bit shorter than what I'm used to on the longer lenses in the series. Exposures seemed spot-on (compared to the sometimes erratic K28/3.5) and colors were a bit subdued, but dignified to my way of seeing things. Short FL manual focus lenses are pretty tough for me to get focused, so this won't be my go-to walk-around lens, but I have high hopes for when I introduce it to my landscapes in the Smokies.

And finally, letters F, D, and C:

Nice tree eating the rail! I have shot a few images with mine and have just put it on my Super Program with some Provia. Very short throw on the focus ring. Got to get back to Knoxville sometime. My classes were mostly in the Old Gym at the time... The Orange does seem a bit subdued. I like the color rendering in these. I got this for landscapes as well.

I hoped you'd see these--if you've not kept up with construction projects, I'm afraid Stokely was razed for a parking garage this year, sic transit gloria mundi.

At any rate, I was running a B+H XS-pro CPL since there is typically a bit of glare even under broken clouds this time of year and didn't notice any vignetting. Otherwise, I find myself drawn to "FA" (versus DA Limited) rendering, so I'm happy to trade a bit of pop for that cool buckskin color on the yellow end of the spectrum. I will have to test the lens at infinity, though...the few "landscape" shots I essayed didn't hold together when I saw them in post--definitely want to see your samples soon.
