Commercial Shoot
Posted By: Kerrowdown, 05-17-2015, 09:07 AM

Just to show a couple of images from a recent shoot for a local garage, taken on my "old" Pentax kit.

Both taken on a K20D with my "Good Lady” (SMC Pentax-A 20mm F2.8).

I like the first one a lot. Very nice PP for this kind of a shot. Commercial grade. Very nice to see the Good Lady's abilities. Are these the famous diesel Hilux trucks?

I think I also posted this thread to help demonstrate that while on this forum there is much talk about all the latest kit. Here is an example of a 2008 camera mounted with a 1985 - 2001 lens, still being able to produce images suitable for fee paying commercial use.

Aye they certainly are, the one on the left is the 3 litre and on the right the 2.5.

You're welcome! I, too, have the A-20mm/2.8 and that lens is a keeper. A very capable lens, and pretty looking, too. The hype about modern lenses is understandable, technology progresses fast. But I've always preferred "steam" systems for their being bulletproof. As for the trucks, owning one of those is a dream of mine as they are not sold here in the US.

It's not a Hilux, but here in SW Canada, an acquaintance has a right hand drive Rav 4 with a diesel in it. It's his toy - and he pulls a small camping trailer with it.

Shipping? Hilux are so tough you can drive 'em there, even across oceans.

The Hilux size is Tacoma here. Tundra are the big brother an 8 cylinder gasoline engine. And thirst to match, but they can climb mountains! (I've done it with mine).

I've seen some Toyota trucks with diesels in them here, but you'd better be a mechanic to own one, no official support from Toyota when it comes to diesel engines. People get those engines from overseas and do the swap. If one can do it himself, fine. To have it done offsets the benefits IMHO.

The Rav 4 I mentioned above was imported from Japan. It's not a home made swap. Note the RHD setup. They drive on the wrong side of the road in Japan, too.

Aye Toyota do seem pretty robust vehicles.

A strange one that... I wonder why, Europe is full of diesel Toyotas.

I have a feeling that all RAV4s are made only in Japan.
