Another street portrait from midtown. I might have gone a little overboard with the BW conversion, but I'd be interested as to what you think.

I definitely like this shot of what is now the iconic look of a person with smart phone glued to ear.

Great shot would be well worth having a good play around in PP and explore other PP settings.

Me, think I'd drop the overall exposure a tad (scene looks a little bright) and try to get some more rich blacks in the there.

More fun street shots With a 28 mm you must have really been in this guys face! Or did you crop? What range of lenses do you use for street shots? I would probably go with my 100 mm if I was going to try it, but then again you get a lot more in the scene with your wider lens.

I think the B&W looks fine, although I might have reduced the exposure a bit over the subject's face and clothing. Still, these are the kind of foibles that make street shots interesting. You go out there and shoot and see what happens, analogous to live TV. It's a great genre that I have a lot of respect for. I'd love to try this but don't have the guts LOL

Slight horizon adjustment, and cropped a bit off the right of the frame but yes, I was more or less in his face (that's me in his sunglasses). Right now, I am using my 28 but I am looking to get something wider so that I can get even closer I haven't had much success with telephoto street shooting; but some do.

Thanks, Jer. It gets a little frustrating as a street shooter when everyone is glued to their phone! It's difficult to get variety

I agree. Here is a second attempt at PP which, I think, works better.

Many thanks. What I like about the 28mm (as opposed to the 18mm lens on my GR) is that one doesn't have to get too terribly close (but still pretty close, relatively speaking).
