I went out yesterday late afternoon / early evening to try to catch the sunset. There were limited exits off the freeway, so I wound up in the hills. As the sun sets, the sun back-lights the cactus and trees, which makes them "glow". Plus, it didn't hurt that last weekend it rained for 2 days.

It's really nice out now - high 80's to mid 90's, with this unseasonable cool weather pattern. Last year at this time, it was 105 and climbing. However, by July, each of those bushes will be the equivalent of 1 to 5 gallons of gasoline, just waiting to go up.
