Grandson learning the K3
Lens: HD Pentax DA 55-300mm f/4.5-5.8 ED WR Camera: Pentax K3 Photo Location: backyard ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/200s Aperture: F4

We had planned to shoot some birds so we put up a camo bird blind in the backyard. We had it all ready, bird blind, feed in the feeders, tripod, camera set up on AV with the 55-300 WR and then the neighbors behind us and nearest the bird feeders started up weed eater etc. Needless to say, five people cleaning a yard, their dogs barking at my dogs, my dogs barking at their dogs, me hollering at Peachery the chiwienie to stop barking at the neighbors dogs, finally threatening him with a water hose . NO BIRDS! Lol, that turned out to be a disaster but my grandson was showing great interest in hiding inside the bird blind so I told him to start aiming at the dogs. Reminded him to press the shutter release half way to focus on the eyes, showed him how the tripod worked and how to move it around. I prompted Ricoh a little and my grandson took some pretty nice photos I think.

You have got him off to a good start. "Focus on the eyes", he has certainly learned that important lesson. Well done to you both.

He certainly is on his way to mastering the K-3 and will only get better with time.

Thanks y'all, he had a good time. He only quit when it was time for me to take him home.
