Here's a few shots taken from the back of the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald, Edmonton. Part of the prairie look (as opposed to our infamous Mountains) Last one is a 12 shot pano.

Some nice looking countryside.... never been up there before! (Except once on a stopover which doesn't count).
Wow a 12 pic pano... you are a patient man! Looks seamless, what did you use?

Interesting views here Dave, I always thought of Edmonton as all city, lots of beautiful areas to hike and bike it appears.

Thanks Bob there are lots of paths surrounding the city for sure. We have so much land up here, it's just different, especially out west. When I am in CA and drive from say Burlingame to Redwood City I pass 3 towns and 5 million people and 15 on ramps where traffic comes to a standstill at rush hour in that 10 mile jaunt. Here I go from Edmonton to Calgary (190 miles) pass a couple of big towns pretty much smooth sailing the entire way. This will be a day trip (under 3 hours each way)

You had best include a shot of the skyline with that group or people will think Edmonton is a village.
