"You are young, my son, and, as the years go by, time will change and even reverse many of your present opinions. Refrain therefore awhile from setting yourself up as a judge of the highest matters." (Pl. Laws 888a)

Off to old Manhatto today. Here's hoping for the capturing of some compelling imagery.

The sixth age shifts
Into the lean and slippered pantaloon,
With spectacles on nose and pouch on side,
His youthful hose, well saved, a world too wide
For his shrunk shank, and his big manly voice,
Turning again toward childish treble, pipes
And whistles in his sound.

Ha, very "lucky" again! I do rather like the fact that there always seems to be a semi-hot woman emerging from the middle distance...das Ewig-Weibliche strikes again.

Another great street image.

Have you noticed that since you got your PENTAX-DA 20-40mm F2.8-4 ED, all your street shots have been at 20mm.

I wonder if it might be worth considering a 20mm prime now, like my "Good Lady"... slightly smaller diameter and a bit lighter too.

Can you think of any other reasons besides the smaller "footprint"? One thing I am noticing as I go through my images taken with the 20-40 is that I am missing focus much more often than I was with the M-28. This is exactly the reverse of my expectation, since I thought that the 20mm FL would give me greater DOF. 20mm is 20mm in terms of DOF, right? whether the lens is prime or a zoom should not have an effect on DOF?

Here's a couple, primes usually have a bit better IQ, and manual lenses have a nice dof scale so you can easily preset the focus.
