okay, here's a quick recipe:

Pentax DSLR and macro lens
Flash + remote trigger
baking sheet
superglue
white card

Superglue the dandelion seeds to the baking sheet then fill with water to cover the seed part. Mix up some water with food colouring, or better still a 50/50 mix of water and glycerine with colour. Take a fine plant spray/atomiser and spray the mix on the seeds. use a dropper/syringe - whatever to add larger drops.

place white card behind the setup and bounce the flash off this to backlight the scene.

Experiment a bit; a small change in lighting can change the image quite a lot, especially if the droplets are illuminated.

Modern baking sheets seem to be a pain as they often have reflective sparkly bits in the non-stick coating. I sprayed this one with matt black paint

I've got to ask... how on earth did you come up all with this in the first place.

It's a bit like one of our national food delicacies... the deep fried mars bar and how that originated.

I'd seen a Japanese photographer on 500px do something similar and just started experimenting. I guess not so dissimilar to "I was in the chippie eating a mars bar (or considering my haggis) and just started experimenting"

And there was I, thinking that the Banffshire water was an extra bit special.

Macallan, Glenfiddich, Benromach, Strathisla ... the list is long enough to make it a viable claim
