Night Photo Experiments
Posted By: PC_pentax, 06-11-2008, 02:46 PM

C&C welcome.

I was restless the other night and decided to take a stab at longer exposures after dark....

Each of these was taken using the K10D with Sigma 28-135. Exposures ranged from 5 seconds up to 30 seconds at f11 or 16 with ISO set to 100.

No two is best imvho. Experimenting with nice results is even better than just experimenting... (in my very humble opinion)

I like the first one the best. It's an interesting color you captured with the sky. Was there any pp color manipulation in that one?

My favorite time to shot is the evening. I have not done much of it as of late but you have inspired me. Great work and I like the soldier best of the group but the bridge is a very close second

I love night time images Pat. I love the first shot, but the second one is strong with a lot of appeal to me too. Thanks for sharing.

No, none of these were hand-held.

The only PP I did was to clean off a dust spot or two. No color corrections. I played around with WB settings and the exposures to get different colors. The night sky, the clouds and even a warm humid haze helped out, too.

night photo's

Nice work! I've been doing time-lapse photography for years as I find it very rewarding. When I first started I was amazed how much light could be captured.

Love the light trails

The third one is great. You got the light trails while keeping some detail, rather than have a solid line of light.
