Killhope Wheel and Cottage
Lens: Pentax SMC-DA 21mm f/3.2 AL Limited Camera: Pentax K3 Photo Location: Upper Weardale, Co. Durham, England ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/200s Aperture: F11

Taken on a recent visit to the Killhope Lead Mining Museum. It's a fantastic place - a sympathetically restored lead mine and associated buildings dating back to the 1870s, right in the middle of Weardale's beautiful countryside (about 30 miles from my home).

Very cool--I had always thought of Yorkshire and Powys, Wales as being the "lead capitals" of the UK, but this really seems to be a great historical site. I'll definitely try to make my way there the next time I'm England if I don't get distracted by the trout streams in that part of the world.

Thank you

When I took and processed the photo, I hadn't calibrated the monitor on my PC... as a result, whilst the colours are about right, it looks a little darker and gloomier than I intended, although not too much... it certainly wasn't a bright, sunny day

Lovely photos. Reminds me of photo my two Sisters in law took, when they visited a small town in the Scottish Highlands, north of Loch Ness. It was an old farm (crofters ?) house...a couple of miles outside of the town, where their great grandparents had lived in many years before.
