Winter Solstice Sunset, Again.
Lens: smc PENTAX-DA* 16-50mm F2.8 ED AL [IF] SDM Camera: K-3 Photo Location: Guyra, New South Wales

Another couple from this afternoons shoot. The dark marks in the HDR is a sun affect, didn't want to mess with it too much.

Well there is some dark sections on the second image, I don't think they were caused by a tree.

Both are really great shots.


In the second picture, the way the dark band I think you're referring to curves around the sun gives it a feeling like the darkness is slowly pushing the light below the horizon. It's subtle but imparts a feeling of how light and dark exist together.


I suppose I'm in a philosophical mood this morning, I'll get over it soon enough though.

The colouring in these shots is excellent and you've captured a lot of detail.

Thanks EM. Clean country air. We off to Guyra in a couple of weeks again and I'm hoping for some star shots, and maybe another sunset or two.
