Attempt to capture a Bald Eagle in flight · 04:10 PM

This is from various attempts to capture a Bald Eagle in flight.

K20D with Sigma 18-200 at 200mm.

Actually, I found it more difficult to actually cope with the amazing speed of this bird. You can clearly see how much motion there remains at 1/180s. In comparison, the AF problems were smaller than anticipated.

The eagle has landed...

All images are slightly cropped and post-processed, but not resized.

Looks pretty good falconeye

Tough to get a shot like that. If they are flying past you the birds are so big the wings mess the focus up if it tries to lock on the wing tip. At least it does for me with my k10d but I've got a lot to learn yet
