Who wouldn't be proud to follow these lads as they march into the sunset.

Aye men have fled the battle field, when these lads turn up full bore.

It was the evening sunset that helped here.

Lovely shot. Every time I hear the pipes it sends a thrill...or something ...up my spine.

My wife's cousin belonged to a pipe band when he was a young lad. Now that he's in his 50's, I don't know if he still keeps up his skills, by playing in his suburban back yard to the undoubted delight of all his neighbours. I'll have to ask his neighbours one of these days.

Stirring stuff indeed! I believe the pipes led the troops into battle in the 1942 raid on St Nazaire.

The Native Americans thought them to be evil spirits. They weren't wrong.

For a lot folk on their first encounter it was pure fear, which worked well if they were the enemy.

Really excellent capture. The angle of your shot to the oncoming pipers is perfect!

I have a couple of albums of pipers ripped onto my computer at work. Playing them is usually enough to discourage casual conversations within earshot of my office door, too

I've also got an hour's worth of Lakota Sioux war chants (converted sound from a youtube vid) that works just as well.

Not sure on that one, a quick Google didn't confirm or deny.
