Nothing rhymes with orange...

Van Gogh famously asserted that "there is no blue without...orange," a theory these gentlemen working up in Louisville were kind enough to test....

Its a wonderful composition, the action and complementary colors of the lower-left quadrant giving way to the inherent geometry of the building and leading the eye smoothly around the picture.

Thanks for your comments, guys--I wish now I could have squared-up on the scene (or had a longer lens to flatten the oblique angle) but I was holding up traffic as it was! The 20mm FL really helps, though, if you're less a pixel-peeper and more an "f/8 and be there" kinda guy.

Ha, I'm going to blame my relative youth on missing that allusion--though I do remember Steve Martin's "Two-door/Four-door mansion" line from LA Story.

I think the geometry would be less interesting, had you done so. Just IMO, though.

That's a great point--I think I'm okay at seeing "flat" scenes, but still have trouble capturing the relationship of objects to one another "in space." (Of course, my thick eyeglass lenses make anything happening in an OVF a bit of a mystery, anyways...

Very glad it works for you... I'm still getting the hang of a wide angle lens but there are times it sure comes in handy.

Addendum: FWIW, I was playing around with luminosity masks with this file today...not sure if it's improvement (and I'm quite sure I need to find the "desaturate" slider ASAP)
