The original jpeg. I haven't graduated to RAW yet.

On some cameras, the jpeg compression creates a mottling effect in swaths of graduated color, like a clear blue sky.

I see the noise too. The cropped frame feels like the opening scene to a tale or movie. Really nice perspective.

Yes Paramount Pictures from Hollywood maybe. It helps to get feedback, thanks. Cheers

I see a lot of noise on the first picture, not only the sky but also haloes around the tree branches. The second shot looks much cleaner to me and I prefer it, but I do like the way you handled the mountains in the first one. Nice composition! I think you're ready for RAW!

If you are not doing so already, I'd advise you shoot RAW+Jpeg. That way, when you are "ready for RAW" you will be able to go back to older shots and process them from the RAW files.

Thanks for the input. Yes I'm seeing an overcompensation in the edit now.

Very intuitive because I have been shooting both simultaneously due to the duel card option in camera. So I will be playing with the RAW version soon. Thanks!

I've noticed that there is quite a difference between monitors in rendition as well, but the noise is still obvious. Lack of edit experience. This helps. Thanks
