Amish Kids
Lens: 100-500 Vivitar Series 1 Camera: K100D Photo Location: Pennsylvania ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/80s Aperture: F5.6

Several years ago I had a Vivitar Series 1 100-500mm lens. I was always quite happy with it but for some reason I sold it. It was quite sharp as you can see. Well I am a happy camper because I scored another for $45 on eBay. I can't wait for it to get here. Got my fingers crossed that it is a good as my previous one.

Nice bunch of kids! Isn't it the case the Amish don't like to be photographed? (I live on another continent so I really don't know)

What a great shot, you've captured interaction with all three of them, well done indeed.

That's true, they usually look away but in this case they were curious. I was shaded in the back of a van with a 500mm lens and they couldn't see what I was doing.

Great shot. The stuff in the background almost looks like a body on the ground. Maybe these guys were look-outs for an Amish egg snatching ring and someone ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Good slice-of-life pic, and the sharpness of the Viv does look good. Hopefully your new copy will live up to its predecessor!

I always knew the image was a good capture but the ghost line at the bottom always bothered me, thinking it was not worthy. You guys have confirmed the shot is a good one. Thanks a million.

Oh now you've pointed that out... it's just an awful shot.

Much PP now required.
