Poppies and Something Else
Lens: Pentax D-FS 100 mm Camera: Pentax K-5 Photo Location: Various
Posted By: GeoJerry, 07-15-2015, 05:18 PM

A set of macros from 2013 that I've reworked in Lightroom. All were taken in natural light except the last, in which I used the K-5's built-in flash for fill. The poppies were taken in Solvang, California, and the yellow flowers (ID anyone?) were taken somewhere in Wyoming.

Sharp, crisp, colorful - I really like how you processed these.

The yellow flowers, around here we just refer to 'em as yellow daisies, I don't know more specifically than that.

Prairie coreopsis. The petals have the two parallel indents running full length. Eastern Wyoming from tall grass to the Bighorn Mountains is part of the range.

Thanks luftluss! Daisy works for me but I'm sure someone out there knows their botany!

Thanks waterfall! I'm not sure but I think this one was taken at a pull-out along the Bighorn River.

Thanks eaglem! Nice to hear, coming from the macromaster himself!
