A few shots from the Graduation Cruise...
Posted By: maxwell1295, 06-14-2008, 08:40 PM

I still have a ton of images to go through, but figured I'd post a few that I've been able to process to this point. Most we shot with either the FA50 or the Sigma 17-70, except for the one shot with the DA10-17FE. All shots were handheld. with the exception of photo #1, all flash shots were done with shoe mounted flash in M mode using manual focus.

1. Shot using the eBay Cactus V2 trigger with 2 remote receivers and 2 Vivitar 3500 flash units

Thanks guys! I've been so busy processing pics, shooting another event (today), and busy enjoying Father's Day that I haven't had the chance to check out my own thread.

I like #8 a lot too. Although I was tempted to crop it differently (i.e. cutting his head off...lol), I decided to capture the entire moment. Her expression and hand really make this shot work for me.

That last shot turned out good because the guy didn't move when he saw me point the camera at them. He definitely gets an assist for that one!

Number 8 reminds me of what my wife and I look like dancing. I'm 6'5", and she is 5' even. I got the tall one in the family as her sister is only 4'11".

Here's another one I liked...

The original shot was blurred (I think it was shot at 1/80th). I decided to make use of it by adding a little motion blur using GIMP.

What do you think?

I like them. The last one in the first series was done with a shoe mounted flash?! Was it bounced?

Nope, it was taken on the top deck of the ship. That was a regular incandescent light bulb......I just forgot to switch the WB on that one.

Everything was shot in JPEG and didn't want to screw up the effect by adjusting the WB manually in PP. All in all, I did a pretty good job of changing WB modes. I ended up with 2 "blue" shots and that last one. Other than that, they were fine.
