Nice. A lot of fun with something new isn`t? Helps keep it fresh and justify new acquisitions.
Enjoy.

I would recommend some time just sitting with it, manual in hand and just getting to know it better. The menus and functions really are quite intuitive and laid out well so in a short time you can become very comfortable in shooting situations without searching for things. Lots of experience on the forum with this model so I`m sure answers to any questions are readily available. That 20-40 is a great choice for walk around general shooting so keep at it.

First day or not, it's a good image. Was he snagged or did he have a fish on?

I'm a long time fan of yours. Every time you post, I call my wife over to look at your latest so I'm wondering what your opinion will be of the K3II compared to your K3. I just don't see how you can get any better than what you already produce.

I think he has snagged the back of his collar. When I blow it waay up, I see a bump, I think.

He is in mid-cast... You can zoom into the photo well enough to see that the bail is open on the spinning reel, and the blur of the rod tip as it whips along in its arc. A fine way to spend time 😎

Thank you everyone for your comments,it is very much appreciated. It does look like the fisherman has snagged his collar as well :-) I have been a photographer for a number of years now and have moved over to Pentax because I wanted a smaller body and decent quality lenses. I had a shoulder injury last year and needed to move away from canon and nikon full frame bodies and lenses because of the weight. Hopefully I will be a regular contributor to the site once I get my eye in.

Pentax WR will also give you the benefit of little worry when your equipment is in danger of splash and spray from waves and wind. Looking forward to more pix.
