the nifty thing around the Pacific NW is that we have white ones as well. It's interesting to travel and note how the ratio of white to colored varies.
While its medicinal qualities are all known, (as a heart medicine), its well to remember that it merits a listing in poisonous plants because of it.
My wife can't even touch one without getting a skin rash...
