The first attempts at macro photos....

A good effort for a first attempt. Interesting that your F stop was F7 and yet the DOF looks a little shallow which may mean you were a little too close to the subject. All in all a damn good effort.

Put on a flash and crank the Aperture to F22 or better ..
Are you using a close focus filter or cropping ?

A +4 close focus filter seems to work well with the kit lens

Focus filter +2 and photo is cropping...
