This is a hard one ... with the B&W shot the sky is really bright ... a bit too bright.

The colours in teh colour version are nice and soft .. and looks like it has been toned down which i think works well in the shot ... the B&W seems too harsh here.

I prefer the color version as well. You may want to see what sepia looks like. That might be better than both of them...

Thanks, I'll have to check out some sepia action. I've tried in the past, but generally haven't been satisfied with my results.

It would be criminal to take the colour away from that shot. Beautiful image.

Edit: I should add some more of my thoughts. The black and white conversion just makes everything look to similar and overcrowds the scene (to me). The colour works so well at drawing your eye to whats important.

I agree.

I'm trying to go through some of the better shots from my vacation last year. This was one of my favorites.

Color one definately. The B&W takes away from the mood.

I'm going to go against the tide of popular opinion (that's the story of my life ) and say I like the B&W version more. For me, the coloured version has very muted tones, anyway. The B&W one has lots of contrast and sets the mood of being dark and moody; what graveyards ought to be.

Thanks, I think that they both tell their own version of a story.

I really like the color one. It has a really nice feel to it that the B&W one doesn't have for me.

B&W without a doubt, maybe do some selective curve toning on the sky to even out the exposure, but for me the B&W has more mood and feeling, but I could be a bit biased.
