Diabaig to Gairloch
Camera: Pentax K-5 Photo Location: Scotland
Posted By: GeoJerry, 08-18-2015, 12:54 AM

Here are a few shots from a day spent touring around, exploring the towns of Diabaig and Gairloch.

The small village of Diabaig on the west coast of Scotland. This town is pretty remote and the only road to it is pretty wild.

On the way to Diabaig.

Another view of Loch Torridon.

Loch Maree, a really fine loch that you drive by on the way to the town of Gairloch.

Victoria Falls, on a hillside overlooking Loch Maree.

Beautiful shots and lovely country. I would love to visit one day, but probably have to wait for my kids to grow up...

Thanks rondec! Put this high on your bucket list, the scenery is first rate. Driving can be pretty hairy though.

Oh yeah, I know the area and have driven that route several times (as a lot of tourists have). But not on this trip! We got as close as Inverness on the way west, and on the return went through Fort William.

Drumnadrochit

Must have "driven past your front door", after visiting Urquhart Castle on our way to Inverness from Plockton and the Kyle of Lochalsh.....

Thanks very much! As a matter of fact I did get several shots of pipers but not in this area.

Thanks! That's a relief! Gotta fix mine, it has lots of yellow splotches on it.
