K-3 and FA 50 ƒ1.7 @ ƒ2, 200 ISO and Aperture Priority

I'm not sure I've ever shot much at ƒ2, maybe on film, when you couldn't just dial your film up to ridiculous ISOs. So today I gave it try...some of them definitely suffered, but hey, it was an exercise.

#3 is really neat. Did you find that, or did you pose it?

The dogs had knocked it over so I picked it up and put it on the tree stump. I know, I know, if i was a photojournalist I might lose my job.

You can't let those dogs ruin your life.

If I was a photojournalist, would have taken it in place and the headline would have been "Dogs knock over mushroom, ruin photographers picture."

As it is, I got to use a mushroom I never would have picked and the headline should be " Dog's force photographer to place mushroom on log, luftluss likes it."

My favourite is the little bug on #5

Oh, did I forget to put in the tomato?

Here ya go...

Or how about a lichen?

I guess the fungus among us were just more compelling.

Interesting series, I know I rarely shoot below f4 at all anymore, I do not think I did much in the days of film either. Number 2 and 6 are my favorites.

Good tomato, niche lichen and the fungi aren't bad either thanks for the entertainment Norm.

I had to force myself to do it. Normally I shoot wide open, 4 5.6 8 11, and choose the one I like, and it's rarely the wide open, whether it's 2 or 2.8, so today I didn't give myself the choice.

Everyone should have at least one ƒ2 lens. Especially with the DA 50 ƒ1.8 on sale right now for pocket change.
