These trees at Ancient Bristlecone Pine National Forest are over 4000 years old. That's older than the Pyramids.

That's a fantastic capture. Maybe separating the Milky way and thee tree more would have worked even better?

How did you shoot/process to get the Milky way to be so visible? I'm still struggling with this.

I thought so too. Unfortunately there were 4 other photographers around the same tree trying to photograph milky way/shoot time lapse. It was difficult to find a spot without blocking them or having them in my frame.

I understand. Can you share your processing/shooting technique?

Cool shot! Was this a photo tour or did you just have some friends along? Just curious where those other photographers came from!

I manually focused at the stars using magnified live view and used a shutter speed of 25 seconds. I think I used ISO 4000.
Then I followed the following video to process the image:

Its is a very popular spot for night photography. Almost no light pollution and it is at 11,000 feet elevation. There are some other popular trees where sometimes it is hard to find space for setting up your tripod. You are guaranteed to find other photographers if you go during new moon.

25 seconds, you must be at the limit !
4000 years, it's mind blowing imagining all that happened around this tree !
