I am quite certain that I was fully extended, at 1300mm, as I was actually attempting to get a shot of a heron, when the whole mess took off, and I just started shooting. The shutter was 1/1600 s, and the ISO was 800. On that lens, at 1300mm the aperture would be f:16.

Perhaps a lucky shot, but it still is something special to pull of such a photo.

Wow, yes it is very difficult with a long lens to get that sharp. Good job. I've yet to get a good one.
