I had to turn my monitor upside down to get a good view of this. : ) Is that the way this bird normally feeds?

I see that this was taken Down Under. Now that explains everything. LOL!

Seriously, these are very interesting shots Bruce.

Thanks for comments, much appreciated. These birds go at it all ways, especially with the 'bottlebrush' flowers which are cylindrical and can be approached at all angles. Not to mention that I too was at an angle trying to get him in fame. To be honest I can't really remember which way was up.

Very cool shots of a busy little guy. What flower and plant is this "downunder"? Shaped like a bottle brush.

Thank for commenting. The flower is one of the many varieties of Callistemon, commonly known as a Bottlebrush, endemic to Australia. "Down Under" is a slang reference to the Australian continent, located as we are in the southern hemisphere.

I usually read other's comments after I view the photo and then comment so as to have a completely fresh unbiased comment and viewpoint. So sometimes my comments may be redundant. Yeah the bottle brush just came to mind and of course the downunder I knew since the Dundee series, maybe before that from a classic movie made there with Burt Lancaster. Cool thanks for the answer and for these lovely photos. Oh and Steve Irwin...RIP.+
