Nice "vintage style" almost b&w rendering, I sometime prefer these because they are more eyes-friendly and give sharper results, lots of nowdays photos are over-saturated, it's a question of taste

It looks great with the lack of colour (grey day was it?)
I think we took possession in 1509, but not sure, and that we blew it up as we left 1692, to prevent any remaining Jacobites from using it.
I am not sure but the Jacobites the Grant's didn't want to use it were possibly also Grants. We fought on both sides! and not only during the Jacobite uprising either.

Yes I agree, anyway even on sunny days, you usually get lower saturation when light source is facing you +/- 90°, B&W is a nice option in this case, but I like to tweak light curves in LR to give a warmer aspect even if it is cloudy, like on this one taken on a cloudy day :



It often over expose clouds and renders a white sky, but that's also what I've often seen on old B&W film photos.

Yess, great one ! But you must have a secret tip to get this warm white and dark blue effect^^ It gives a vintage B&W rendering.

Let me guess, do you tweak RGB curves separatly and change global T° ?

ATM I don't touch my b&w "colors" but if I would, I thik I would first try to just change T° (warmer) and maybe soften to give an old photo paper aspect, maybe adding some uncolored noise...

This is the magic of b&w, you can go very sharp and contrasted without messing colors, I find them more artistic, even without any tweaking.

No it's actually very simple thing to do... a B&W conversion with split toning, saved as a preset, so it's just a one button click, it's become kind of a Kerrowdown B&W signature style look for me.
