Perhaps after another dram, everything straightens out? Is this an all-electric switching yard? (I think I can see all kinds of power lines suspended above the tracks) Seriously though, I think the real engineering feat is getting the signals and switches to all work so a train doesn't end up stranded. In Edmonton, Canada, a major extension of their light rail transit system was (maybe still is) held up because the city engineers couldn't organize traffic lights to allow both cars and trains to move through about a five block district without running into each other.

We put these down a huge embankment, so to get anywhere near the lines there must be a touch of Kamikaze pilot in you.
