A big thank you to everybody who gave me advice on using this lens. I can now say for certain that as much as I like the FA 50mm 1.4, I like the K 50mm 1.2 better! I learned a bunch and thanks to youse guys I didn't make very many exposure mistakes. The biggest thing I learned is that as I continue photographing, I need to take more care with my focusing as time goes on. In the beginning most of my shots were dead on, as time wore on, more and more of them were slightly off. I don't know if that's due to eye fatigue, overall fatigue, or if I just get sloppy. In any event, something to pay more attention to. I really really really really really like this lens! Here are a few from the Conservatory at the NY Botanical Gardens this afternoon.
All shot with my DS, the K 50mm 1.2. Since this is a manual lens, I have no aperture data.
Reflecting pool in main atrium 1/180 ISO 200
1/250 ISO 200
Well no worries about sharpness! 1/500 ISO 200
the DOF wide open is paper thin! It requires as much care focusing as macros! 1/250 ISO 200
It handles colors very well 1/125 ISO 400
More colors 1/90 ISO 400
The Garden is getting ready for it's annual orchid show, so they put out some "teasers" 1/180 ISO 200
1/125 ISO 200
Well, thanks again everybody, and thanks for looking, I guess I may keep this stupid old thing after all!
