A ghost in Venice ...
Lens: Sigma 1.4/30 Camera: K3 Photo Location: San Giorgio Maggiore

In churches in Venice you can find not only all kinds of historic examples of beautiful art but also modern work.
This shot I took in the church San Giorgio Maggiore. Difficult to capture the breathtaking beauty of the sculpture but the light comming through the window helped.

Wow, Norbert - that is something: both the artwork and the photograph. Very cool, my friend.

I wonder how they got it in? and the chap on the lefts not looking to good about it all either.

You did well to capture that much detail with the available light you had.

Thank you for your comment! Regarding getting it in ... maybe final assembly happened inside?

It just looked like a one piece wire mesh construction, not something you could squeeze about too much.

That's right but I seem to remember that some welding was done also.

Aye that explains it then, it would very difficult to move that about in one piece and keep it looking that good.

That's outstanding! I'd love to see more shots of this, different angles and perspectives. A very striking piece of art.

Welding might be done to create this beautiful art, but with this photo you nailed it...

Thank you, I only took 2 or 3 similar shots. In a church I don't want to be too disturbing.
