I much prefer the second. The composition is better, the canoe more prominent, and yet all the elements of the first (sky, clouds, mountain, reflection, stones) are all there. Awesome shot.

I prefer this one, it's more in line with the rule of thirds. That rule is fine to break but I think here it applies well and improves and already very nice shot.
If your landscape has a person as the subject or for scale and they are moving, it often works better to have them moving into, rather than out of the frame. So on a 1/3 line (or intersection of 1/3 lines even more so) and moving in to the frame makes it a stronger composition.
