One from the archives... trying out Lightroom on some of the old shots, this one taken in southern Iceland in August 2012. I had worked all of these shots up in Aperture before switching over to Lightroom early this year, so every so often I like to go back and see what Lightroom can do with the old RAWs. I'm very impressed with its ability to bring out shadows: I think you can easily recover 2 stops and more.

Very nice. You sure know how to find those mystical places on earth to shoot. Ísland is def. on my bucket list as i have a buddy who's mother is from there. Next hop north from the Highlands.

Thanks very much plantej... Iceland was on my bucket list forever, and I finally made it happen 3 years ago with the whole family. It's well worth it!

Not too far away from you! Although maybe you'd have to go via London? Thanks for the comment

Well that just adds an extra 880 miles to the 1550 mile journey.

Well you may have to stop off at the Faroe Islands first whilst you raft your way north/northwest like ole Huck Finn.

Sweet, sounds like a hot springs rendezvous. Geothermal wonderland. The closest I've gotten so far is a hand knitted Lopapeysa and blanket from there. Arguably the warmest sheep's wool on the planet pound for pound.

Actually what I took away from Iceland was not so much an impression of hot springs but more the water, everywhere, in rivers and falls, and of course the incredible topography. I really want to go back and see the northern part of the country. We only saw the south.
