Forgive me Brothers and Sisters....
Posted By: Mallee Boy, 11-01-2015, 09:16 PM

....for I have not posted a photo for a week or so. No excuses, just slack, so I'll take my punishment.

Sunrises and sunsets have been very subdued, read not happening at all, and I thought this morning was going to be better, but alas another fizz.
However.....there is always tomorrow.

I did find a couple of things of interest this morning though.

Have been messing around with this.

Love an old tree, but would have liked a little more light.

Des, your last pic is outstanding. Are they soldier crabs that I can see on the sand? PS - I have downloaded that pic as my desktop wallpaper for a few days.
Glad you like it Rod (especially as it was quick conversion from the processed jpg rather than from the original raw file). I think the little ridges are from sand worms, but I stand to be corrected.

We sympathise. (There's a town called Culloden in Gippsland.) And I'm sure you highlanders voted for independence.

Have never been to Scotland, despite a few grams of McDonald blood in me, it was on the bucket list, but doubt it will happen now.
Don't give up @MalleeBoy. It's very photogenic, and the perfect place for WR Pentax gear.

Don't get too smug Rod. KD is closer to the coast than you are. In fact he's probably down there sunbaking now.

Nice pics @MalleeBoy. Most people think of the 50-135 as a portrait lens. Interesting to see landscapes with it.
Use it a lot for landscapes. One of the best shots I have ever seen of the Grand Canyon (imho) is taken using the 50-135 by KeithG, a great big ugly gorilla, (really ) that occasionally drops in here. I know he will read this and may even post it.

doesn't conjure up the same images as an Aussie beach
The biggest single difference is that we don't have all those lovely Aussie beach babes here.

Wouldn't want you to get the impression every Australian beach is sandy.

Great shot Grant. May be the wrong picture to have posted about what a beach is like. I dont care about sand or rocks in this picture. Had to look for a while before i noticed rocks.

Not sure if this will work or not but this is the picture Mallee Boy is talking about. Landscape with the 50-135 DA* . I uploaded it to Flickr and then the link here.

My statement about Aussie beach babes still stands, it really doesn't matter about the physical material make up of the beach, as long as the most important ingredient is present.

That's the one. This was printed to something like 900 x 600mm (from memory) and you could clearly see the rafts on the river. The detail in this shot was stunning, well done Keith.
Cheers

PS.....you have changed your picture.....no more big ugly gorilla !!

Thats right Grant. Cant really see for sure in this one but when it was blown up to the 900x600mm you certainly could. Ive been told i need a bigger house to hang it though. . I should put my old profile pic back up i think. It was the natural me as you know. Its uncomfortable wearing a human mask.

Thank you rod_grant. That was taken with my old K10 and the 50-135. 20 odd thousand pics later, i still cant fault that lens.
