Forgive me Brothers and Sisters....
Lens: DA* 50-135 Camera: K3 Photo Location: Fleurieu Peninsula SA
Posted By: Mallee Boy, 11-01-2015, 09:16 PM

....for I have not posted a photo for a week or so. No excuses, just slack, so I'll take my punishment.

Sunrises and sunsets have been very subdued, read not happening at all, and I thought this morning was going to be better, but alas another fizz.
However.....there is always tomorrow.

I did find a couple of things of interest this morning though.

Have been messing around with this.

Love an old tree, but would have liked a little more light.

Thanks for dropping by Geo. I'm quite partial to that shot as well.

On the first shot I've got a white wide band/streak in the lower right corner, just above the tree line.

Yep, I've got that as well.
Occasionally when I get what looks like a corrupt file, I load it in Google Chrome and the 'corruption' isn't there. (Go figure!)
On this occasion, the band was still there.

It's a really nice image.

Kerrowdown, did you notice the yellow beach? That is sand.
In Oz we have that right around our coastline: none of that stony stuff you and the Poms have.

Don't get too smug Rod. KD is closer to the coast than you are. In fact he's probably down there sunbaking now.

Nice pics @MalleeBoy. Most people think of the 50-135 as a portrait lens. Interesting to see landscapes with it.

Come on Des, I think he's had his quota of sun for this year. And lying on your back on 50mm rocks can be pretty painful.
You know very well what sand is: Inverloch, with the tide out, has about as much sand as England, Scotland and Wales put together.

(OK it's not Inverloch, it's Venus Bay, (just over the sand dunes) but you get the idea.

Sorry for the hijack @MalleeBoy

Our local beach is called Sandy Point. You can see why.

Not as painful as the temperature.

Mind you, it's not exactly balmy here today either - fog and a cold East wind.

BTW, I don't think Scots can be called Poms. They have suffered from colonization too.

Cheers to you @Kerrowdown.

Des, your last pic is outstanding. Are they soldier crabs that I can see on the sand?

PS - I have downloaded that pic as my desktop wallpaper for a few days.

btw I didn't mean the highlanders were Poms: I meant kd and his ilk and also the Poms.
(I know the difference: I did primary school with mote Scots and Poms than Aussies!)

Aye but it gets in everywhere especially food stuff, that's why they're called sandwiches...

In fact all around the Loch Ness has sandy wee bits, so I don't even have to go to the coast.

It that what you call it, we consider it's still as good as an occupied country, when your bulk ruled by Westminster.

Somehow a Scottish Beach doesn't conjure up the same images as an Aussie beach.....but lets be kind, its all they have and we wouldn't want to start any discussions about mountains either. Have never been to Scotland, despite a few grams of McDonald blood in me, it was on the bucket list, but doubt it will happen now.

Love the photos guys.
