Wonderful series - You really must have some great rapport with the kids to have them smile and act like that

Beautiful shots! I certainly hope you aren't really done, you're very talented and I'd love to see more.

It’s all been said and I agree whole heartedly - the sharpness, lighting, expressions are as close to perfection as I have seen in a while.

Omgoodness!
TY all SOOOOOOOOO much! I am still learning and TRYING hard NOT to be just a 'lucky-shot' photographer!

Ok, here it comes....

I use my KIT LENS for 80% of my shots! 18-55!
I use my 'Zoo Lens' (50-200/$180.00) for my Zoo shots!

I have yet to get a "real' lens!

TY again for all the GREAT words of confidence! I need them since I doubt me more then my hubby likes!

ETA- ONLY lighting is either natural or my speedlite (540)

These are infinitely better than the crap 'professional' photos we had done of our kids over the years. Dare I say you have a real talent that needs to be exploited. If you don't already, you could make some serious coin doing portraits like these.

Great job - thanks for sharing.

It has all been said... wonderful... But I am so envious... To think you are getting these results with the 2 kits... and a speedlight. Just Amazing.

You got mad skills as the kids say... I think I hate you! 8^)

this also shows the great capabilities of the pentax system. (especially the warm natural tones of pentax lenses) I could only imagine how wonderful of pictures you could get (not that these aren't in any way) with a limited lens like the 77mm, 31 or 43 or one of the DA series like the 40 or 70mm that are designed for portraits. you really do have a talent, though its not my style of photography I do very much envy your capabilities. I think you should invest in one or two of these lenses and really pursue a carrier of this.

Very Well Done. Do you use a diffuser on the 540? I thought I saw one in the girl's eyes on #10.

Nope no diffuser =) That is just me in there! LOL!

*Thank you all for the comments! I am hoping to buy a new GOOD lens after I sell off my K100D, so I need to research them. What do y'all think I should get? A faster portrait or a macro??! tips please?! Should I stick with the pentax name or spread my wings?! =)

I would say portrait, and there is absolutely no need to use another brand unless thats what you want, pentax really does have some of (if not the) best prime portrait lenses available this side of zeiss and leica. as I stated above a lens like the FA 77mm Ltd. or the 31 or the 43 or maybe the DA 40mm Ltd. or the 70 are amzing lenses for the money and I imagine you would truley be happy with any of them, particularly for these kind of lovely portraits. you can do a search in the forums and find many amazing portraits taken with these lenses particularly the likes of the FA series, ie: 77, 43 and 31.
